Hi, I am Anh Quang Do, a 21-year-old self-taught iPhone developer and web developer. Feel free to ask me anything. Welcome to my personal blog. You will find pretty much everything I care about and want to share here. Linked posts are automatically imported from my Pinboard account. Visit this link if you want to read my original posts only. Oh, and don't forget to visit my Twitter account, Facebook profile, and my portfolio while you're at it. I have created a few iPhone apps, WordPress plugins, websites and scripts that you might find interesting. |
.Vn’s own site is up. Thanks to jonnotie for his freely available template.
Just to let you know: from now on, all original posts in my blog will be tagged with ‘original’ and prefixed with ‘♫ ‘. Feel free to skip my reblogged posts if you rarely open your RSS readers and have loads of items to consume.
Project52 is a personal challenge geared toward getting fresh content on your website. The goal is to write at least 1 new article per week for 1 year. Because we all know what it‘s like to procrastinate on our content. A website is not just a fresh design that can be uploaded to the web and forgotten about!
You can read about the original discussion over on Anton‘s blog here.
All you need to do is just commit to the challenge and write the content. This site is just here to remind you of that commitment.
The Project52 challenge will go from January 1st, 2010 to January 1st, 2011. It will be interesting to see how many of us make it that far.
I just joined this exiciting project yesterday, hoping to get more content for my newly switched blog in the upcoming year. Nearly 200 sites have joined and the list is growing.
Would you like to participate?
That is, as if it has EVER been designed before.
Designed by me. Inspired by Tim Van Damme. Made to look right in IE by lek.
In the last few months I have left a big ad at the end of every post delivered by FeedBurner. Didn’t notice it at all until I turn off ad blocking. Man, it is so annoying and doesn’t worth putting in in the first place. I earned a whooping £2.19 in total - you get the idea.
Today I am removing the last bit of Google Adsense from my RSS feed. Changes haven’t shown up yet, but I think they will soon.
I did intend to earn some quick money from my blog in the past, but now find the writing itself much more rewarding. What I need are regular readers, not some random Googlers here and there. Reading my RSS feed should be an enjoyable experience (if any), not a way to drive traffic to my site. Full content feed and ad-free posts are the way to go.
Recently something has been bugging me for days: The more I do blogging, the less feature I want from my blogging engine. It helps explain why I constantly try out new things: from WordPress to Textpattern, back to WordPress, then Chyrp, and now Tumblr.
Since Tumblr isn’t a self-hosted service and doesn’t support importing blog posts from any other services (that is, importing everything, not only recent posts), I decided to keep those as an archive of some sort. A couple of mod_rewrite rules were employed to make sure existing permalinks redirect properly. It means even if you come to my blog from an ancient onetruebrace-dot-com-slash-something link, you could still find what you are looking for.
For those curious, here are latest changes to my blog:
If you are reading this post in your favourite RSS reader, you don’t need to move an inch. As long as you subscribe to http://feeds.quanganhdo.com/quanganhdo, you always get my latest posts no matter what happen.
If you are one of my Tumblr followers, my future blog posts will be automagically (love this word) delivered to your Tumblr dashboard. No more imported links (and therefore require an extra click to read the whole thing) from another WordPress/Chyrp blog.
If you just happened to come across my site and enjoyed reading my stuff, feel free to subscribe to my aforementioned RSS feed and/or bookmark either http://log.quanganhdo.com or http://quanganhdo.com.
That’s it. Hello World.
